Changes in management at HB Grandi

Svavar Svavarsson, head of business development, will retire before the end of the year. His role will be taken over on 1st of October by Torfi Th. Thorsteinsson, head of the groundfish division, while Inga Jóna Friðgeirsdóttir will take over management of the company’s groundfish division from the same date.

Inga Jóna has been head of fish drying at HB Grandi since the merger with Laugafiskur ehf in the later part of 2013. She has been the managing director of Laugafiskur from 2004 and subsequently as managing director of Brim from 2007 to 2013.
She has a master’s diploma in positive psychology from EHÍ and a MBA from the University of Reykjavík. She graduated with a BSc in international marketing from the Technical College in 1998 and had previously studied business management there.
